My contribution for "The 360 Deal"

British author, blogger, music industry consultant and more Andrew Dubber has initiated the creation of a new book gathering "startup tips" from 360 music industry-people from all over the world. The book, The 360 Deal (clever, huh?), is sold for a minimum of 3.60$ and all proceeds go to a youth-led charity in India called Music Basti.

I'm proud to have been asked to contribute and proud to be part of the project as a whole.

Free BIG BAND REMIX-EP out today!!!

One year ago, I released the album "Big Band". Now, the album has been through the machinery of five curious and very different electronic musicians and producers - and out comes a challenging version on how big band-music can sound in 2011.

The five remixers have had 100% free reign to tear apart the tracks and put them together again, and the result is out now for free download at www.larswinther.dk/bigbandremixed - and will also be released on a limited edition 180gr vinyl.

One more...!

Hi again,

So, as if the previous post about being on Jazznyt's yearly top-10 wasn't enough, Danish journalist Jakob Bækgaard who writes for a.o. the prestigious web-site All About Jazz also has me on his list of the 10 best Danish jazz-releases of 2010. What an honor!

Check out the list and the other great releases on it right here: http://www.allaboutjazz.com/php/article.php?id=38379

Dear all,

Merry christmas and a happy new year to all of you. It's been a great year here, and I hope you can say the same for you.

Latest great news, is that Danish jazzblogger Niels Overgaard (www.jazznyt.blogspot.com) liked my Big Band-album (released in March) so much that he has it on his list of the best Danish Jazz-releases of 2010. What an honor - especially if you check out the list with the rest of the names: http://jazznyt.blogspot.com/2010/12/arets-bedste-danske-jazzplader-2010-...

Peer a/k/a Per Bloch Andersen who released his debut cd/book "Kollektion" last year is putting together quite a spectacular event for this years Kulturnat in Cph. "DACollage" will feature music by Peer himself along with The Freudian Slip and me, poetry/spoken-word by Thomas Boston and Julie Kiær Andersen and Visuals by Hans B Guldager Enevoldsen - all of it presented in an interactive, innovative and exciting setting.

Long overdue update

Sorry for the silence... As previously mentioned, the BigBand-album is out and I'm very delighted about that. The media has also received it well; take a look at some of these reviews:

New album out today!

Hi all!

Today, the 1st of March, my new album "Big Band" is finally released. I'm really proud of this album which is the result of many years of writing and arranging for large ensembles mixed with an intensive period of focus during the fall of 2009. Add a good portion of rising star-musicians from the Danish music-scene and pinch of legendary Norwegian mix-guru and you get what I hope is a recipe for success ;-)

2010 awaits: Album ready...!

Happy new year to you all!

I'm happy to announce that the upcoming album, which will quite simply be called "Big Band" is now ready - well, almost. Right now I'm waiting for Benjamin Andresen who is preparing the artwork, and then it's just a matter of pressing the darn thing. I'm expecting to release in March, but already now you can have a listen in the new media-player to the right. Hope you'll like it...

Lars

Mixing the album in Rainbow Studios

Comments disabled

Hello all,

So, the day finally arrived; yesterday I went to Oslo to mix the Bigband-album with mr. Jan Erik Kongshaug. As I had expected from the emails, Jan Erik was a really nice man, and we worked very well together. He'd sent me some mix-suggestions on beforehand, so it was mostly a matter of aligning them to what I wanted - which wasn't far from what he'd done.

BigBand-project progressing nicely...

After months of recording and editing, it's almost time for the big trip to Norway where I'll mix the upcoming album in the legendary Rainbow Studio with mixing-wizard Jan Erik Kongshaug. It's hard to describe how much I'm looking forward to this, and I have no doubt the result will be magic. I'm already extremely pleased with the recordings and the performances of the huge number of musicians involved, so I can't even begin to imagine what level Jan Erik will take the project to ;-)

I'll put some sound here soon, maybe even before mastering

brgds,
